France 2015 – Champagne-Ardenne Arts Residency

Invitation to a private Arts Residency in the village of Clefmont, Haute-Marne valley France.
With a ceramic studio situated in a 1715 Chateau, an intensive work period resulted with 5 new clay sculptures, towards future exhibition in Europe.

AGB- Art Galley of Burlington

image008Naked Craft Exhibition (NCE) will be travelling for three months to the general public, as well, the exhibition includes a symposium discussion. The NCE show not only travels to The Art Galley of Nova Scotia & to Materia in Quebec, but it is just announced that the exhibition will also travel further to venues, TBA, and in Scotland as well. I am so pleased for this outreach of the new work.

ABOUT SUSAN
My full time studio practice includes clay sculpture and printmaking. The work derives from interest in the tension of strength against fragility and as I push the work towards the edge of physical collapse, this theme becomes more potent. The work is hand-built and sculptural in nature. The use of light interplay provides a perceived fragility explored through stacking and channeling of hand-built clay platelets.
